Home Gardening
Our Home Gardening programs are designed to increase the homeowner’s
ability to solve horticulture problems and develop an appreciation of natural
resources. The Home Gardening program at Cornell Cooperative
Extension-Broome County is very active and centers around Cutler Botanic
Gardens, a 4.5 acre living horticulture classroom located on the property
of Cornell Cooperative Extension-Broome County at 840 Upper Front
Street, Binghamton, New York.
Cutler Botanic Gardens is maintained by a dedicated group of Master
Gardeners who are trained by Cornell University faculty and staff and operate
under the guidance of the Cornell Cooperative Extension - Broome County Horticulture
Educator. In addition to Cutler Botanic Gardens, the Master Gardeners operate
the Horticulture Response Line, a hotline dedicated to answering consumer
horticulture and pest control questions, assist with adult education classes,
conduct garden tours, and the Out and About Children’s program. A Speakers
Bureau program is offered through the Consumer Horticulture Program.
