Program Description:Kids Stuff Image

Kid’s Stuff offers a mixture of free play/choice and structured activities, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am weekdays, July 10 through August 9, 2007. A Tuesday & Thursday option and a Monday, Wednesday & Friday option offer art, science, large and small motor, language, music, literature, and dramatic play. A nutritious snack and outdoor play (weather permitting) are included each day. Program goals focus on developing social skills, helping children separate from parents, function in a group, become comfortable in a school setting, and excited about learning. Up to 25 children are enrolled for each program option. A ratio of 6:1, children to staff, is maintained for safety and quality of program. At some sites, a Foster Grandparent or other volunteer may work with the Supervising Teacher and 2 Preschool Aides. Funding from the NYS Office of Children and Family Services helps municipalities sponsor the program. The program does not provide transportation. Children must be brought into the room each day, signed in, and picked up in the room at the end of the morning.

Eligibility & Enrollment:

Children must be at least 3 years old at the time of participation, and must not have completed kindergarten. The parent(s) and child must be a resident of one of the sponsoring municipalities or supporting school districts to register. Children must also be toilet trained.
