Why Farm to School

There is growing national interest in rebuilding and strengthening local food systems. This effort involves linking farms and schools to provide students with nutritious diets that promote lifelong health, and, at the same time, to provide farmers with additional sources of income.

Vision & Mission

Vision
Local, state and school policies that support the use of New York foods in New York schools, colleges and universities. Children, young adults and families that know, choose and enjoy New York foods. Increased economic vitality for farming in New York state.

Mission
To improve health and enhance agriculture by linking farms and schools
